01The challenge
A full accounting suite for people who do not do accounting
Shop owners and contractors replacing a paper invoice book, often on entry level phones with intermittent data. Bookkeeping has to happen as a side effect.
One write, three ledgers
Sales, stock and expenses feed the same reports, so a single entry had to update all of them consistently.
Slow launch or stale numbers
Refetching everything on open is unusable on a bad connection, but stale figures are worse.
Reports have to be documents
Reports are the reason users upgrade, so they had to be shareable files, not screenshots of a list.
WhatsApp as often as email
Sharing an invoice could not assume the customer has a mail client.
Entitlement has to survive reinstalls
Free and paid tiers gate real features, so the check had to hold on the device.
02What we built
Cache locally, compute on the device, sync in the background
Native on each platform over the Vencru REST API, with a local database under the screens that matter. The app opens on real data immediately.
Invoicing, clients and receipts
Invoices with line items, tax and currency, share to email or WhatsApp, cash receipts, and per client summaries.
Inventory, expenses and the cached dashboard
Barcode scanning through ML Kit, bulk import, expense recording, and a dashboard over 16 Room entities.
Reports, team and subscriptions
Seven reports with six rendered by dedicated PDF generators, team roles, and Play Billing for paid tiers.
Reports render to PDF on the device with PDFjet, so a user produces a profit and loss statement without a round trip.

A dashboard that is already loaded
Summaries render from cache on launch, then reconcile behind the UI.
A trader opens the app between customers. The numbers are there before the network answers, and every invoice they send updates the same ledger the reports read.

Line items, tax, discounts, per invoice currency, plus a shareable hosted link for clients who pay online.
02Email or WhatsApp delivery
The customer gets their document on whichever channel they actually read.
03Cash sales receipts
Recorded against the same ledger as invoices, keeping reports accurate for cash heavy businesses.
04Inventory with barcode scanning
ML Kit and CameraX, bulk import from a spreadsheet template, stock levels and low stock analysis.
05Expense recording
Category breakdowns and an analysis view, so cost sits next to revenue rather than in another app.
06Seven reports as PDFs
Sales, profit and loss, debtors, inventory, sales tax, expense and stock analysis, rendered on device.
07Offline first dashboard
16 Room entities and 15 DAOs feed ViewModels, so totals and charts render from cache on launch.
08Team and subscriptions
Member invitations with roles, bank and payment settings, business card creation, and Play Billing tiers.

Vencru, as it ships
Two screens from the app: the sales summary, then profit details.
Sales summary totals paid, outstanding and draft invoices for the selected period, with the invoice list itself filterable and searchable underneath.
Profit details plots income against expense for the year, then breaks the current month into paid and owed income against total expenses.
